The Creative Writing Society at the University of Sheffield have unveiled the committee members for the next academic year. Following their April 18th AGM, the committee’s newest members have been officially announced to be taking over in 2024/25, continuing the work of the current team.
Relaunching back in 2023, the Creative Writing Society features regular writing events and other socials, as well as publishing digital anthologies of their members’ work and running writing workshops to help hone literary skills. Having been relaunched this academic year, the new committee will be the second the society has had in recent years.
Annual General Meetings (AGMs) are an annual event in each society’s calendar, when constitution changes are voted on and new committee members are elected. Should roles remain outstanding following an AGM, an EGM (Emergency General Meeting) can be scheduled to fill remaining roles. Each society has four core roles, namely President, Secretary, Treasurer and Welfare & Inclusions Officer, which must be filled in order for a society to continue activities into the next academic year.
The committee-elect for the 2024/25 academic year is as follows:
- President ~ Holly Thorpe
- Secretary ~ Eden Holgeth
- Treasurer ~ Emma Spruce
- Welfare & Inclusions Officer ~ Katie Joslin
- Social Secretary ~ Ananditha Sunil
- Creative Media Officer ~ Almahdi Elhamri
