    Full name: Anna Campbell

    Age: 23

Course & year of study: Music graduate

Give us your pitch! Why do you want the job and why should students vote for you? Try and keep it short, maximum four sentences.

I have really enjoyed the role this year and feel I’ve done a really good job. A lot of my work has been behind the scenes tightening up our in-house systems and now I have more understanding of what we can do and how to get there. I’ve gathered the evidence we need and I can now lobby the University to be better and to support more student activity! I can also begin my projects straight away if re-elected, as I won’t need retraining so I could feasibly start this work on March 11th instead of in July.

Why should students trust you with managing the SU’s budget funding their societies?

I’ve been managing the budget this year and feel that I have done a successful job and would do again. I was a treasurer of a society and so understand what groups need but I’ve also opened conversations around how we can improve funding for groups as part of my role and I’d like to finish that work.

    Do you have any hobbies?

Music – I’m a huge orchestral, brass bands and musicals nerd! I play french horn and tenor horn so I play in orchestras and brass bands in and around Sheffield! I love going on walks in the peaks, baking & shopping (I spend too much time on Lucy & Yak and Vinted)!

    Three words to describe yourself?

    Determined, welcoming, empathetic.

Who would play you in a film of your life?

    Florence Pugh.

What’s the best city in the UK (don’t be boring, you can’t say Sheffield!)?

Bath – she’s my home city. She may be expensive but she’s beautiful!

Pick your top 3 Uni of Sheffield societies…

This is really hard because our societies are amazing and I’ve really enjoyed working with them this year!

You can time travel to any year in history anywhere in the world. Where, when and why?

Ancient Greece, they were the first civilization to put on paid concerts – as a former music student, and a musician myself, I find this really interesting and fun, and I’d love to get involved in some funky Greek beats.

Film or music? Favourite film/artist depending on your answer?

Ah this is a horrible question but music (kinda had to be) and my favourite artist is Maisie Peters!

Given the choice… pub, club or coffee shop? & Name your favourite pub/ club/ cafe in Sheffield depending on your answer.

Ah um pub? I love the Old Grindstone – the Sunday quiz slays!

What’s your meal deal? Not Tesco-exclusive, you can be edgy and pick a different shop…

Hoisin duck wrap, innocent juice, and salt and vinegar squares crisps.

Which living person do you most admire and why?

My parents – they’re very resilient, and also two of the kindest, most open-hearted people I know. Everyone feels safe and welcome and their door is always open.

    What’s your guilty pleasure?

Bingeing Miranda for the thousandth time while online shopping

What’s your favourite thing about Sheffield?

There’s so much diversity and so much you can do in Sheffield! I love that sport and the arts are celebrated here, also the fact it is so green with the Peak District and all of the trees in the city centre. It is so easy to escape from the city into the countryside.
