The penultimate event of the Off The Shelf festival was a fascinating discussion of the Black Alternative culture. Stephanie Phillips, author of 'We Were Here', is a music journalist and the lead singer of the black feminist punk band 'Big Jane'.
Part of the festival’s Writing the City series, the Urban Institute’s Beth Perry converses with Sufiyaan Salam on his debut novel Wimmy Road Boyz. The story features Immy, Khan and Haris – ambitious and frustrated to boot – as they set off down Manchester’s Curry Mile for an energetic night of friendship and fun.
SUTCO brings us their bold and bright first play of the year, packed with hilarity and heart as it explores identity, relationships but most importantly: James Dean.
