GET INVOLVED
Every year, hundreds of students get involved by writing articles for our sub-sections and earn bylines they can take to employers and also experiencing opportunities only available otherwise through internships.
Forge Press has built relationships with an array of venues in Sheffield who are willing to offer students with exceptional FREE opportunities through press passes.
Media teams at The Ulitita Arena (Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey & Boxing) and Sheffield Wednesday have given Forge Press our own seats in press boxes at the stadiums so students can go down and report on games.
The Leadmill and Sheffield City Hall offer Forge Press with opportunities to review music gigs, comedy events and theatre productions. We also have strong relationships with our respective Students’ Union events teams giving Forge contributors free access to report on events that take place in the campus.
There are two ways you can get involved:
Join our Forge Press Contributors Group. This is where our sub-editors post articles they would like to be written up for the website or newspaper.
Or, you can pitch your ideas via [email protected].
Every year all roles within the Forge Press Committee become up for grabs. Find out more about each role here. If successful in applying for the role, you will be part of the team running the newspaper. You will be expected to fill the shoes of the previous editors in producing top quality journalism for our student audience.
