The Graves Park Food and Drink Festival is one of the biggest events of the summer in the largest park in Sheffield on the weekend of the thirtieth and thirty-first of august this year.
This festival offers a wide range of events and activities included in the ticket, with adult prices starting from £6.95 for the whole day. This is planned to include a Live Cookery Theatre where an impressive line-up of local and national chefs and culinary establishments offer cooking demonstrations and workshops across a variety of skills and cuisines. Although the lineup has not yet been released, the North Leeds Food Festival last year included chefs frp, The Foundry, Shear’s Yards and Freda Shafi. This is an amazing experience to gain more knowledge on high-end cooking and recipes without having to pay for a private masterclass!
Alongside this, there is also a wide range of live music at the festival with a lineup of 26 performers specialising in a variety of Jazz, soul, pop, swing and indie genres. This will be found near to the entertainment area, where a variety of magicians, comedians and entertainers will be performing throughout the day.
Of course, there are opportunities to purchase food and drink to enjoy whilst engaging in the variety of activities available throughout the day. Everyone can enjoy the variety of international street food available, highlighting the talents of local cuisines and businesses in south Yorkshire. Although the specific stalls have not been confirmed, it is guaranteed there will be food everyone can enjoy!
There are also a wide range of bars across the festival offering a wide range of spirits and cocktails, as well as a full Ale House, featuring local IPA’s, cask ales, ciders and more. There are also a range of juice and lemonade bars available for those who do not drinks alcohol.
Despite being an amazing weekend for everyone in Sheffield, the organisers of the festival have worked closely with the mental health charity Mind, raising over £127,000 in donations so far. So, whilst we get to enjoy ourselves, we’ll also be making a difference to those struggling with their mental health. This goal is also reflective through wellbeing workshops such as yoga that can be found across the festival, creating a well-rounded and exciting weekend for families and students alike!
