Give us your pitch! Why do you want the job and why should students vote for you?
International students in Sheffield alone in 2021/22 have a net impact of £273 million on the economy. We deserve better representation and opportunities. We deserve for our voices to be heard and considered in the SU.
What’s the biggest challenge facing international students at the moment?
Lack of support, representation and opportunities. The UK only seeks to benefit from us without giving anything in return. We are tired of being cash cows.
Three words to describe yourself?
Calm. Kind. Passionate.
Who would play you in a film of your life?
Honestly I don’t know.
If you could spend a year living comfortably in any city in the world, where would it be?
I would have to say Dubai because it seems like a chill city and I’d love the sunny weather all year round. Reminds me of Nigeria
What’s your greatest fear?
Death of both myself and loved ones.
What superpower would you choose?
Reading Minds, but you won’t be able to read mine :-).
You can time travel to any year in history anywhere in the world. Where, when and why?
I would go back to pre-colonial Nigeria, the early 1800s before 1884. I’m curious about how life was before colonisation.
Film or music? Favourite film/artist depending on your answer?
Music. Ayra Starr because Afrobeat is the best genre of music.
What do you most like about the UK?
I love the open mindedness here especially on topics like mental health, disability etc.
Given the choice… pub, club or cafe? & Name your favourite pub/club/cafe in Sheffield depending on your answer.
Cafe. Cozy Corner on West Street. It’s actually cosy.
Which country has the best food?
Nigeria… duhhhh. I’m biassed towards my country. I think everyone should try authentic Naija Jollof.
Which living person do you most admire and why?
My parents because they have sacrificed alot for me to be here e.g international fees. I love them very much.
What’s your favourite thing about Sheffield?
The slow paced lifestyle. Sheffield people are also really nice.
