Give us your pitch! Why do you want the job and why should students vote for you?
Student mental health is at an all-time low and climate change rolls on seemingly unabated. Within this context I believe that I have the skills and the vision to improve students’ welfare and challenge the university over its sustainability failings.
With an unlimited budget, what three things would you do to improve student-experience?
- I would introduce free mental health first aid classes for all.
- Provide free essential personal health products across campus (e.g. Period products, STI test kits or clean needle exchanges).
- Introduce a Student Homelessness support programme to provide emergency accommodation/wider support to those finding themselves without anywhere left to go.
Why is sustainability important to you?
Since I was 15 not a day has gone by where I haven’t felt scared by the climate and ecological emergency. Meanwhile our institutions have continued like business as usual. And if we truly want to stop climate and ecological collapse, we need to build a sustainable future.
