Give us your pitch! Why do you want the job and why should students vote for you? Try and keep it short, maximum four sentences.
Do you ever feel like even in our big SU with all the hundreds of student groups we are not exchanging ideas and values with as many students as we would like? I will create a platform where societies can post their collaboration ideas and find collaborators who would like to hang out with them – open to the whole student population! We will form deeper connections when we share our interests with the wider student community and bridge the gap between cultural, departmental, creative and special interest societies.
Why should students trust you with managing the SU’s budget funding their societies?
I want to use the Student Union’s budget effectively to make activities more accessible for more students and allow and encourage societies to run more events free of charge!
Do you have any hobbies?
Dancing has always been my favourite thing! It gives me such a strong sense of community and freedom of expression. The best moves come to me in at home dance battles with my friends!
Three words to describe yourself?
Adventurous, bubbly, language nerd (that counts as three right?)
Who would play you in a film of your life?
Oh how I’d love it to be Kate Winslet in her Titanic era.
What’s the best city in the UK (don’t be boring, you can’t say Sheffield!)?
Bristol!
Pick your top 3 Uni of Sheffield societies…
I’m very biassed for sure but my first pick has to be Swing Society! Immaculate vibes and lots of dancing! Rollerskate Society are a really strong contender – did you know they used Student Union funding to make all their activities free of charge? Finally, SUPAS has been my favourite society to collaborate with up to date – they’re incredibly creative and often step outside the box when creating their shows.
You can time travel to any year in history anywhere in the world. Where, when and why?
I’m quite comfy where and when I am right now but Krakow, Poland in the 90s would be my first choice. I think getting to experience a familiar space – my home town – just slightly different than what I know it to be would be so fun! And maybe I’d get to see my parents when they were my age.
Film or music? Favourite film/artist depending on your answer?
Film! And my favourite would have to be The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (if I went for music then probably Howard Shore’s music for The Lord of the Rings – absolutely timeless).
Given the choice… pub, club or coffee shop? & Name your favourite pub/ club/ cafe in Sheffield depending on your answer.
Oo I have to say coffee shop. I made some great memories in Steam Yard on Division Street with its lovely courtyard.
What’s your meal deal? Not Tesco-exclusive, you can be edgy and pick a different shop…
Egg cress sandwich, sweet chilli crisps and a red smoothie have been there for me since day one.
Which living person do you most admire and why?
Definitely my mum! She’s so creative (a knitting genius!) and is always giving back to the community. She inspires me to explore the world and to look for myself through adventures.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
A very serious rewatch of the full Twilight saga every once in a while!
What’s your favourite thing about Sheffield?
Call me basic but 100% just how green it is. Especially with spring right around the corner, just the thought of being able to grab a hot choccie in the Endcliffe Park Cafe and hang out with the ducks brings me so much joy!
