Match Preview: Sheffield Wednesday vs A.F.C Bournemouth

Two sides in contrasting form will meet under the lights at Hillsborough, when Sheffield Wednesday host Bournemouth.
The Cherries are still to taste defeat in the league since their relegation to the Championship and sit 3rd in the division. Sheffield Wednesday, on the other hand, have slumped to four straight defeats since their last victory against Birmingham City.
The Owls have also won just one of their last six home games against Bournemouth, although the sides have not faced each other in competitive action since April 2015.
Garry Monk shuffled his pack ahead of Wednesday’s last game, an away trip to Wycombe Wanderers. Joe Wildsmith replaced Cameron Dawson between the sticks, Dominic Iorfa was reinstated after recovering from injury and Liam Palmer, Josh Windass and Adam Reach were all brought into the starting eleven. The changes failed to pay dividends, and a fourth consecutive loss was inflicted upon the Owls by David Wheeler’s winner.
Monk could opt to ring the changes again, as defender Tom Lees is available after serving his one-match ban. The 29-year-old was suspended following his red card against Rotherham United, but is back in contention for a starting berth. Fellow defender Joost van Aken, however, remains suspended following his dismissal against Luton Town as the Dutchman was handed a three-match ban.
Summer signing Aden Flint is still an injury doubt, but loanee Izzy Brown could feature from the start after stepping off the bench against Wycombe.
Bournemouth received a boost at the weekend when playmaker David Brooks was declared fit ahead of their draw with Derby County. The Wales international featured as a substitute and could make another appearance during the Cherries’ trip to South Yorkshire.
Winger Rodrigo Riquelme will also be be pushing for a place in Jason Tindall’s starting eleven, after netting his first goal for the club at the weekend.
The match kicks off at 7pm and iFollow match passes can be purchased on the official Sheffield Wednesday website.
