The party leaders will descend on the Octagon Centre tomorrow, Friday 22 November, for a special leaders’ edition of the BBC’s Question Time.
Leaders of Labour, the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats and the SNP who are Jeremy Corbyn, Boris Johnson, Jo Swinson and Nicola Sturgeon respectively, will be grilled by a studio audience for half an hour each.
The programme will be broadcast to viewers on BBC1 between 7-9pm and Fiona Bruce is to host.
An email sent to all students by Head of Security Richard Yates warns that the Octagon and some surrounding areas will be closed from 7am on Friday 22 November.
“Due to an external event, an area around the Octagon building will be closed from 7am tomorrow (22 November 2019).” Yates said in the email.
“This includes a section of Durham Road, the path between the Octagon and the West Entrance of the Students’ Union building, and the piazza directly in front of the Octagon.
“You may need to find alternative routes as you travel across campus”
It is not yet clear if any of the party leaders will visit anywhere else on campus or in Sheffield.
