Photomarathon Sheffield returns this year for its first non-virtual edition since 2019.
Organised by Harrison Cameras and Our Favourite Places, an online Sheffield culture guide, and sponsored by Canon, the Photomarathon is a fun and accessible photography challenge for all ages. The annual event has increased greatly in popularity since it kicked off for the first time in 2016.
This year, the Photomarathon will be held on Saturday 28th October.
On the day, participants will head to the Winter Garden to check in and collect their six photo topics. They will then have the rest of the day to explore the city and complete their photography prompts, before returning to the Winter Garden to submit them. Check-in opens at 10am, and submissions close at 4pm.
There are prizes available for the best photos, as well as an expansive exhibition featuring at least one photo from each participant. Past prizes have included cameras, gift vouchers and photography workshops. Every image taken will also be shared in Photomarathon’s online gallery.
You can enter as an individual or as a team (max. six people, sharing one device), and you can use any device to take your photos.
The event is free for under-16s, charities and community groups, £10 for adults and £5 for students. All participants also receive a special badge which gives them access to discounts at a selection of independent cafes on the day.
Booking is open now, via Eventbrite.
