SHAG Week Comes to Sheffield

The Student’s Union has brought SHAG week back to Sheffield, a week on sexual health and guidance from 2 May to 9 May.

The aim is to foster a safe environment where conversations about relationships, sexual health and consent, among other topics, can be discussed collectively.

This is a week of events focused on sexual health and education, aiming to help students feel comfortable asking questions and bonding with those having similar experiences, as well as receiving extra advice and of course, freebies!

On 8 May, a SHAG mini market will be taking place at the Students Union. This will include stalls from local businesses and services that specialise in sexual health, as well as a pop up clinic.

Alongside the focus on sexual health education, the SU have also arranged a variety of club nights within SHAG week, celebrating every student of all identities and sexuality. This includes the Big Gay Club night on 2 May, showcasing performances by the Drag Society and Steel City Sirens.

The Foundry also presents “Roargasm” on Wednesday 7 May, combining students’ favourite sports night with opportunities to receive free condoms and sexual health information.

This, alongside a second edition of the popular Kink Night and Hot Tarts to end the week, presents the perfect crossover of the university clubbing experience with the ever important need to start conversations about sexual health and consent for every student at the University of Sheffield.
