The full cast for the upcoming Sheffield Theatres’ production of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desirehas been unveiled, revealing Sheffield Theatres debuts for the entire on-stage team.
Following the previous announcement of Joanna Vanderham, who is playing Blanche, the full cast were announced earlier this week, the latest Sheffield Theatres’ original production to reveal the talent that will be performing in the production.
Directed by Josh Seymour and with casting by Christopher Worrell, the nine-person team will take to the Crucible stage in March for a month-long run of the classic story.
Alongside Vanderham will be Bridgette Amofah as Eunice, Lia Burge playing Neighbour/Flower Seller/Nurse, Nuhazet Diaz Cano as Pablo, and Jake Dunn as Stanley.
Completing the cast are Tayla Kovacevic-Ebong playing Mitch, Jack Ofrecio playing Allan/Young Man/Doctor, Amara Okereke as Stella, and Dominic Rye as Steve.
Based on Tennessee Williams’ original Broadway production, which first played in 1947, A Streetcar Named Desire follows Blanche DuBois, who finds herself at the door of her sister, Stella, and her husband Stanley Kowalski in New Orleans after she loses her family home.
As her antics become ever-more hysterical, the relationships around Blanche will be tested beyond all measure, with more than a few strong personalities set to clash.
A Streetcar Named Desire, despite playing in March, will already be the third Sheffield Theatres’ original production to take to the Crucible stage in 2025, following Little Shop of Horrors over the festive period, and Death and the King’s Horseman in February.
The creative team behind this production, alongside Director Josh Seymour and Casting Director Christopher Worrell also includes Designer Frankie Bradshaw, Lighting Designer Howard Harrison, Sound Designer and Music Arrangements by Alexandra Braithwaite, Lauren Dyer as Musical Director and Movement and Intimacy Director Chi-San Howard.
The company is completed by Associate Designer Ceci Calf, Assistant Director Natalie Simone, Dialect Coach Aundrea Fudge, Vocal Coach Tess Dignan and Bethan Clark as Fight Director.
Just over one month to go until A Streetcar Named Desire arrives on the Crucible stage, the latest announcement revealing the production’s cast is an exciting development for those excited to enjoy Tennessee Williams’ classic coming to the Steel City.
With cast and creatives in place, the countdown is well and truly on until our month-long trip to New Orleans begins, and this production finally takes to the stage.
A Streetcar Named Desire is playing at the Crucible from March 1st until March 29th
