Sheffield has always been home to a vibrant music scene, with a range of music venues that continue to evolve alongside the city’s own diversity. From 90s hip-hop and 2000s RnB to 2010s dance pop and 2026 chart toppers, Sheffield has something for everyone. Here, I’m creating a list of the best Sheffield clubs and music venues to go to based on your music taste.
West Street Live
Getting its name from the main clubbing strip, West Street Live is one of the most iconic venues in Sheffield. It’s known for cheap drinks (most recently famous for the Skibidi Rizz Bomb) and great energy 7 days a week. Expect to hear pop club anthems and chart hits, with a streak of indie rock. An easy pleaser that guarantees a good night out.
Side note: look out for cartoons that feel like a fever dream.
Tiger Works
From West Street Live, head to Tiger Works, more affectionately known as Tigers.
Like West Street Live, you’ll hear pop club anthems, but with more RnB and hip-hop. Another essential stop on every night out (and every society pub crawl): free entry, cheap drinks and good vibes. Also, look out for free tiger ears during freshers!
Viper Rooms
For something a little less pop and a little more RnB, hip-hop, reggae and dancehall, take a trip to Vipers. Located just off West Street, Vipers is for those who want a place where you can sing and rap the night away. They are also known for hosting a range of events downstairs, including their upcoming Bassline Bingo in October.
Las Cubanas
For anyone who has hips that don’t lie, Las Cubanas in Leopold Square is a hidden gem with insane cocktails and a superior atmosphere. This bar hosts live bands and DJs every weekend who deliver sounds from all over Spain and Latin America.
Plus, don’t worry if you need to brush up on your dancing skills because they host dance classes every week.
Yellow Arch Studios, The Washington and Sidney and Matilda
Next up are three venues for those looking for up-and-coming artists and live music. They all host live bands and artists in a range of genres, creating a chill atmosphere where you can discover your new favourite artist.
Steinhaus
Steinhaus is truly one of a kind in the Sheffield club scene as the only place you can dance on the tables (without being kicked out) with a full stein (i.e. a jug) of alcohol in hand. Perfect for a drunken sing-along, the DJs here have a talent for playing hours of pop, indie and chart hits that everyone knows every word to.
You will leave with no voice.
Corporation
The last place on this list is for anyone who likes a bit of everything. Spend your night between 3 different rooms offering club pop, dance or rock; Corp has something for everyone. Plus, with 90p drinks on Corp Monday and a food truck in their smoking area, you won’t ever want to leave.
