A new burlesque group, formed by former members of the Steel City Sirens, the University of Sheffield’s Burlesque Society, have launched their new group and announced their first performance, coming this month.
Stiff Peaks Burlesque, in their debut show on January 17th, will officially launch their collective, with fan-favourite performers formerly of the Steel City Sirens returning, including co-founder The Perilous Rose.
In a social media post revealing their upcoming showcase, the group proclaimed “Sorry Dry January, the 17th is gonna be a wet one […] join us for an evening of burlesque, comedy and boogieing”.
“With performances from Steel City Siren alumni and hosting by the hilarious Rosy Cheeks, followed by a club night by the phenomenal Factory Floor”, the night has already generated excitement and anticipation within the student and local communities, for the first burlesque performance by Sirens alumna in 2025.
Being performed at Factory Floor in Neepsend and hosted by Rosy Cheeks, Stiff Peaks have also revealed their first performer, in co-founder The Perilous Rose, set to entertain and thrill audiences coming to the first performance of the new group.
Founded by former members of the Steel City Sirens, Stiff Peaks are a burlesque collective aimed at the wider Sheffield community, particularly former students.
Inclusive of members of all genders and body types, the new collective will provide a community for burlesque performers and enjoyers alike, especially for those who have since graduated and therefore left the Sirens coven.
Less than two weeks until their debut performance, Stiff Peaks are preparing to melt those frosty fingers and make January a steamy occasion, despite the cold weather.
With tickets available now, the countdown is well and truly on for the return of burlesque, of some fan-favourite performers.
