Students who occupied the Hicks Building over the last few days were forced to produce ID to retrieve their belongings as they tried to leave the building.

According to protesters in the building, security locked all the students’ items in a lecture theatre they had used to sleep in, before explaining all the items were “lost property” and would need ID to be reclaimed.

Sheffield UCU, University of Sheffield Rent Strike and the University of Sheffield have been approached for comment.
