The candidates running to be next year’s Students’ Union (SU) leadership have been announced, marking the beginning of the election campaign.
A full list of candidates for the SU’s thirteen officer positions can be found here, with all contenders having until 10am on Monday 4th March to make an impression on Sheffield’s students, when a three-day voting period begins.
Campaigning will continue until 6pm on Thursday 7th March, when voting closes, with results being announced on the evening of the 8th March.
Seven full time and six part time roles, all paid, are being contested in these elections.
The seven full time roles are the Activities and Development Officer, Liberation Officer, Education Officer, Welfare and Sustainability Officer, Wellbeing and Sports Officer, and International and Community Officer.
There are also six other part-time positions. Those representing: women students, postgraduates, mature students, BAME students, disabled students and those who identify as LGBT+.

All students are eligible to vote in these elections, with last year’s edition seeing 6,860 students use their vote – a turnout of 21%.
