Zoe Lancaster (she/her) has been voted as the new Women Students’ Part-time Officer.
At the results event, she said: “I can’t even put into words how I’m feeling. I want to thank Kieran who help me put all my posters up around the SU, and to everyone who voted for me.”
Zoe will take over the role in June, and is currently on the SU Council as the East Asian Studies Councillor. Her manifesto focused on the obstacles women face and awareness of online misogyny.
Her policies included creating a ‘Supporting Survivors’ campaign at the SU to improve the experience of pre-existing University procedures to support students who have been assaulted, training for committees against misogyny, lobbying to extend free period products to campus buildings beyond the SU, support for those seeking reproductive healthcare, and the creation of support groups for women parent students.
