The team behind Accidental Death of an Anarchist, the first Sheffield University Theatre Company (SUTCo) production of 2025 has, this afternoon, launched an emergency tech call.
Following their technical team announcement two weeks ago, the production are now seeking to bolster their numbers with an additional member as Set Assistant.
The production, which takes to the University of Sheffield Drama Studio stage in less than one month’s time, will be the first since December’s Margaret Beaufort: Kingmaker.
Posting to the production’s social media page earlier this afternoon, the team have asked those interested to “please fill out the form in [their] bio!”
“Please contact [their Production Manager] (Autumn) if you have any questions!”.
Accidental Death of an Anarchist, written by Dario Fo, is a comedy play following a Maniac’s antics with a local police force, following the apparent suicide of an anarchist, and the investigation surrounding the incident.
This production is not the first time that SUTCo has attempted to stage the production, with previous unsuccessful runs due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The open role for a Set Assistant will be charged with bringing the production’s set design, envisaged by Set Designer Jamie McCollin, to life within the confines of the Drama Studio, and will play an instrumental role in delivering the ultimate vision of the production to life.
With no previous experience required, the production are hoping that their emergency tech call will bring in new talent to the theatre group, or see a returning figure join the company, comprised of returning SUTCo names both on-stage and backstage.
Nevertheless, the team behind Accidental Death of an Anarchist are, this afternoon, hoping that a new figure will emerge to fill the vacancy in their technical team as soon as possible, with only a few weeks between now and the production’s opening night.
With no specified deadline to apply, potential applicants are urged to put themselves forward sooner rather than later, to allow the production to progress with a full technical team as we approach the beginning of the semester.
