The Sheffield University Theatre Company (SUTCo) production Peace Circle, which will be staged this summer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, have announced audition dates for the production, taking place next week.
Seeking half a dozen cast members, the production focuses on a restorative justice process following a deadly accident, and how the various figures come to terms with each other in the months after the verdict.
The production, which will also see several shows in Sheffield, will be heading to the Scottish capital for its main run this August, in the biannual Fringe slot that SUTCo maintains.
Announcing the auditions earlier today, SUTCo are eager to “see both old and new faces turn up for this amazing opportunity”.
“The play is written by our wonderful Lucy Singer and she’s already won awards for its writing skill!”
The play, which secured the show slot in November, will be the first show SUTCo have taken to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since 2023’s We Are, In Fact, The Problem.
Similarly to Peace Circle, this was also an original script, written by James Platt.
Joining Singer in delivering this show are Jasmine Kaur Lee as Producer and Jess Clayton as Assistant Producer, both making their SUTCo debuts.
The group is completed by Grace Lowe (The Effect, The Importance of Being Earnest) as Production Manager, her second production team role.
The 4-person production team, alongside their future cast and crew, will be joined by SUTCo’s Secretary Phoebe Cookson (5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, Lights Over Tesco Car Park) as Company Manager, charged with much of the production’s administrative and logistical duties.

The auditions, which will be taking place on February 17th and 18th, are one of the final opportunities of the 2024/25 academic year to join a SUTCo cast, with only their Shakespeare in the Park: Twelfth Night production yet to audition.
The Peace Circle cast are set to be announced following callbacks on February 19th, with the production expecting a high turnout from SUTCo regulars and new auditionees.
The society are keen for a wide variety of auditionees to put themselves forwards for the six available roles, with the opportunity to perform at the world’s largest Fringe Festival the prize for successful budding actors.
With less than one week until the Peace Circle casting process is complete, actors across the university community are tonight preparing themselves to put themselves before the production team of SUTCo’s latest original script.
A place in the performing cast of the coveted Edinburgh Fringe production at stake, competition is expected to be high for SUTCo’s latest round of auditions to join the Peace Circle.
Auditions for SUTCo’s Peace Circle will take place on February 17th & 18th
