The University of Sheffield Light Entertainment Society (USLES) have revealed the title of their 2025 summer production.
Following script submissions from society members, which opened in December, the script was selected by members of the USLES committee.
The show, written by Zephyr Solaris, will be performed at the end of the semester.
In a post announcing the production yesterday afternoon, the light entertainment group revealed the show’s title, as well as teasing auditions in the next few weeks.
“We’re proud to announce our spring semester play: ‘(a highly professional production concerning the crew of a spaceship and their encounter with an) alien‘ by Zephyr Solaris”.
The performance group, which provide acting and technical roles to students of all skill levels, regularly platform student-written plays.

Most recently, USLES performed their Christmas show Summoning Morphsuit Gary in December, in Bar One’s Raynor Lounge.
USLES, unlike their theatre and musical counterparts SUTCo and USLES, also ensure that all auditionees gain a role in the finished production, meaning anyone can be part of USLES’ latest project.
Whilst no details have yet been revealed about the upcoming production, USLES productions are known for their slapstick comedy, audience participation and recurring jibes, often to the expense of established society members.
USLES’ latest show (a highly professional production concerning the crew of a spaceship and their encounter with an) alien, despite having only recently been announced, has already caused excitement around campus, with many previous USLES members said to be looking forward to returning to the group for their latest show.
With no further details besides its title and author, the anticipation for the final USLES show of 2024/25 is already building, with auditions expected to be particularly popular.
Auditions for USLES’ (a highly professional production concerning the crew of a spaceship and their encounter with an) alien will take place in the opening weeks of semester two
