Liverpool’s Red Rum Club sells out The Leadmill

On Thursday 8th Nov, the up-and-coming band Red Rum Club chose two special locations to promote their new album, ‘How to Steal the World’, which was written during lockdown.

Fran Doran, the lead singer of the band, said: “This album was written looking over the docks last year in lockdown and the title is exactly what we plan to do”.

The small crowd of 250 people went wild for the band as they played hit-after-hit whilst intertwining their old songs with new ones which were to be released just hours later at midnight.

The band told the crowd of Sheffield being their second home, justifying this as their choice of venue, along with the Arts Club the night before in their hometown of Liverpool.

Doran added: “We have played to 2 people here, 20 and now stood in front of 250.”

Between each song the band members explained the meaning for the lyrics and connected to the crowd with a raw emotion of gratitude their followers gave them.

After their appearance at NBHD Weekender in Warrington, the band’s popularity has increased monumentally to reinforce their success for the up and coming 3rd album release.

The band’s niche, however, lay with the famed trumpet player Joe Corby, who had many solos getting the crowd dancing along.

There also was a chant for “Joe the Blow” as he is notoriously known for on Instagram and Twitter.

This band may only be doing 2 gig tours currently, but have promised big things for their future.
