Sheffield Spotlight #01: Minds Idle – Spaceman

Our first ever Sheffield Spotlight goes to Minds Idle with their new track, Spaceman!

A fantastic, Bowie-esque track from what we think might be one of the more unique, and easily one of the most exciting acts coming out of Sheffield at the moment. With brilliant lyrics and an absolutely outstanding production, this track really demonstrates what the Sheffield music scene has to offer.

If this is anything to go by, their gig at the Leadmill on 25th June will be special!

Here’s what the band had to say about the track:

Spaceman is the tale of a reluctant astronaut, burdened by the pressure of expectation. He’s been up there long enough now that the novelty’s worn off and he spends his days dreaming of ditching it all and going home.

Of course there’s a bit of a metaphor in play here but I’ll let people make their own minds up about all that. Think ‘The Graduate’ in Space.
