University Challenge: Sheffield reach quarter finals for the first time since 2011

The University of Sheffield beat the University of Aberdeen in their second-round match-up to earn a spot in the quarter-finals.

Sheffield beat Aberdeen 130 points to 105. The match was aired on New Year’s Day.

This is the first time Sheffield has reached the quarter-finals since 2011.

The university‘s best result was in 2008 when they finished runners-up.

Sheffield led Aberdeen by almost 15 points throughout the game, eventually leading them to victory.

The team is made up of members Safiya Rujak, Joe McGough, Mathew Nail and Captain Cameron Colclough.

The team have been approached for a comment.
