68th BFI London Film Festival previews at Showroom Cinema

For the fourth consecutive year, Showroom, Sheffield’s largest independent cinema, is
collaborating with the BFI London Film Festival to bring this year’s most anticipated releases to South Yorkshire.

The festival starts with the World Premiere of Blitz, Steve McQueen’s visually dazzling tour
de force of British life during the Second World War. It also features titles like Conclave,
Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci’s tantalisingly tense Vatican-set drama and Bird, Andrea
Arnold’s (Fish Tank) astonishing coming-of-age story starring Barry Keoghan.

Audiences can see early festival previews of all 12 titles, between Wednesday 9 and
Monday 21 of October.

As an official Venue Partner of the BFI London Film Festival, Showroom provides unique
access to Q&As, digital talks and special introductions from some of the world’s most
influential filmmakers and major on-screen talent.

Showroom is one of nine venues across the UK taking LFF on tour and the only theatre in South Yorkshire.

There’s something for everyone, with an early preview of Dreamworks’ latest animated
adventure The Wild Robot, a vibrantly beautiful story of discovery with voice work from Bill
Nighy, Lupita Nyong’o and Pedro Pascal. Or the closing night film Piece by Piece, a biopic of
the talented musician Pharrell Williams told entirely through Lego-based animation.

Ryan Finnigan, Head of Cinema and Programming at Showroom, says: “We are excited and proud to partner with the BFI London Film Festival for the fourth year running. These exclusive preview screenings offer cinemagoers in the North the opportunity to see a selection of special previews of new films playing at the festival on their doorstep. The twelve films we are showing offer something for everyone and showcase an exciting slate of emerging talent and exciting new releases”
