Sharrow Vale Road is simply heaven for foodies. Find delicious donuts at Eve Bakery, local staple Porter Pizza, and the iconic Paradiso Tiramisu, not to mention amazing coffee at Corner Store. Perhaps picnic in leafy Endcliffe Park before heading over to Division Street. Say goodbye to fast fashion, this street prides itself on vintage wardrobe staples. Glass Onion is a good place to start, but don’t miss Good Good Vintage on nearby Carver Street.
Historical Holiday
Starring in productions like Peaky Blinders and Pride and Prejudice, Chatsworth House is far from camera-shy. But this Grade I manor is also a masterclass in English Baroque style, and boasts one of Europe’s most extensive art collections, shaped by the seventeen generations of the Devonshire family. Paths and Pints
Wandering your way through dense ferns and past mossy boulders, Wyming Brook Woodland is something out of a fairytale. This circular route winds its way atop the moors, where it’s hard to believe the city is hiding behind the hillside. Celebrate the steps with a much needed pint at the Merry Lads Pub before catching the 51 bus home.
Bakes and Bikes
The unofficial capital of the Peak District, Bakewell is perfect for a relaxed day out. Meander through its cobbled courtyards brimming with independent booksellers, boutiques and bakeries. Of course it would be rude not to sample the town’s iconic pastry at the Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop.
