Darren Moore’s Sheffield Wednesday will be looking for another victory at Hillsborough this Saturday against an inconsistent Peterborough United side.

The Owls are currently 20 games unbeaten in League One, with a 1-0 away win at Charlton last time out clinching this record-breaking run.

On top of that, Wednesday have only fallen victim to one loss all season at Hillsborough – losing out to near neighbours Barnsley 2-0 back in September.

Recent games at Hillsborough have seen Wednesday put teams to the sword, Barry Bannan instrumental as always alongside striker Michael Smith who scored twice in a 5-2 win over MK Dons.

Darren Moore’s men have also beaten automatic promotion rivals Plymouth Argyle in recent memory at home, Hillsborough bouncing throughout after Callum Paterson’s early strike won the match 1-0.

Peterborough United won’t be a complete soft touch however, Darren Ferguson’s men have shown glimpses of their brilliance this campaign.

53 goals registered after 32 matches demonstrates Posh’s attacking qualities, Jonson Clarke-Harris scoring 18 of those to put him in pole position for the League One golden boot.

Alongside the obvious mention of Jonson Clarke-Harris, players such as Jack Taylor and Ephron Mason-Clark stand out in attack for Darren Ferguson’s side.

Therefore, Sheffield Wednesday will have to remain focussed at the back throughout the 90 minutes at Hillsborough to avoid a rare slip-up.

Even still, Peterborough United’s shaky away record will make Darren Moore’s men firm favourites for this clash on Saturday.

Nine defeats in 16 away games played so far means Peterborough have fallen short of the playoff positions, and an almighty nine-point gap separates the Posh and Derby County in that elusive 6th spot.

Furthermore, a red card in Peterborough’s last match could give Darren Ferguson a selection headache.

Josh Knight was dismissed in Posh’s mid-week stalemate against Barnsley with Frankie Kent expected to start in his place at Hillsborough.

Marvin Johnson will sit this one out for the Owls after the FA gave him a further two-game ban following an incident versus Ipswich Town. Callum Paterson also remains sidelined through injury.
