AGMs 2024: New Editor for Forge Press Arts & Theatre

Forge Press’ Arts & Theatre section editors for the 2024/25 academic year have been revealed, following the newspaper’s AGM. Held on April 18th, the entire newspaper has seen a reshuffle in roles, with a mix of new and returning faces to the paper for the upcoming academic year, as well as some members staying on for an additional year.

Reprising her role from 2023/24, Sophie Layton will be returning as Arts & Theatre Editor for the next academic year, being re-elected to her position. Writing for Forge Press since February 2023, Sophie will be continuing her editorial role in the paper, having also been Acting Deputy Editor since January. She will be joined in her role by Jasmine Pegg, a newcomer to the publication and taking over from Lucy Riddell, who has been an Arts & Theatre Editor for the past three years since her initial term in 2021/22, fulfilling her role this year whilst on a year abroad. Jasmine will take over from Lucy following the final of Forge Press’ print editions, releasing on April 29th.

Annual General Meetings (AGMs) are an annual event in each society’s calendar, when constitution changes are voted on and new committee members are elected. Should roles remain outstanding following an AGM, an EGM (Emergency General Meeting) can be scheduled to fill remaining roles.
