AGMs 2024: SUTCo Announce 2024/25 Committee Members

The Sheffield University Theatre Company (SUTCo) have elected members to their 2024/25 committee, following their annual AGM. Held on April 15th for Senior Committee and 16th for General Committee, the latest group of thespians to run one of the university’s largest performing arts societies have been revealed, taking up their roles from now until their next AGM.

SUTCo is a theatrical society focusing on plays and shorts. With a range of original scripts, revivals and adaptations, the society produces around seven shows in each academic year, as well as additional shorts and other projects. Their most recent production, Why We Stay, played at the University of Sheffield Drama Studio in March, and their next show Shakespeare in the Park: As You Like It is being performed in May.

Annual General Meetings (AGMs) are an annual event in each society’s calendar, when constitution changes are voted on and new committee members are elected. Should roles remain outstanding following an AGM, an EGM (Emergency General Meeting) can be scheduled to fill remaining roles. Each society has four core roles, namely President, Secretary, Treasurer and Welfare & Inclusions Officer, which must be filled in order for a society to continue activities into the next academic year. Unlike other societies or Working Committees, SUTCo has an additional two roles forming their Senior Committee: Technical Manager and Publicity Coordinator.

The committee-elect for the 2024/25 academic year is as follows:

  • Chair ~ Caitlin Wood (Re-elected)
  • Secretary ~ Phoebe Cookson (Formerly Social Secretary, preceded by Isobel Treacy)
  • Treasurer ~ Amaara Qureshi (Formerly First Year Representative, preceded by Luke Hookham)
  • Inclusions & Welfare Officer ~ Sophie Layton (Preceded by James Platt)
  • Technical Manager ~ Autumn Ten Dam (Formerly Technical Officer, preceded by Phil Saxby)
  • Publicity Coordinator ~ Katie Carthew (Preceded by Alex Chan)
  • Technical Officer ~ James Platt (Formerly Welfare & Inclusions Officer, preceded by Autumn Ten Dam)
  • Technical Officer ~ Joe Edgar (Preceded by Andrew Hurrell)
  • Social Secretary ~ Kirsty Lucas (Formerly Archivist, Preceded by Phoebe Cookson)
  • Projects & Workshops Officer ~ Darcey Severne (Re-elected)
